INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY (DIRECT ENTRY)
 
The Combined Defence Services Examination (abbreviated as CDS Exam) is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of Nov. Dec. and Apr, May. The examinations are conducted in April and September respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to take this exam.
The examination is divided in 3 papers; English, General Knowledge and Mathematics. Mathematics is for aspirants of permanent commission and the other two are common for all. The standards of the exam for Maths are that of Secondary or Higher secondary school where as GK and English are expected to be of more matured level of graduation.
